Mercedes: merc 190e 1.8i 1992, forward gears, high mileage

hi there, i have a automatic 190e. it changes in forward gears OK.i have changed tranny fluid filter & filter in march this year, with no problems. but just recently when the car is hot i have no reverse gear, the oil is upto the correct level i havent changed the torque converter oil. as i didn't know i can be drained seperately. will it or could this be the problem. as it might be overheatin the torque converter fluid,much appreciate the answer to this problem,vern

Based on the year model , I would expect that the vehicle is high mileage. In some cases, when the fluid is changed after high miles, it washes out particulates that help keep the fluid in the right places.
From my research on transmission changes, I believe that you must use Mercedes fluids. A measured quantity is removed and replaced with the same amount and brand. Then a thermal heat gun is used to make sure the temperature of the fluid is correct.
I expect that you are headed for a transmission rebuild or replacement.
