Mercedes: ignition switch 82 300d MBZ, bezel ring, wedge shape

Question
I removed the ignition to replace the tumbler.Key is 2nd position and paper clip is inserted but I cant get the black outer ring to turn. Any suggestions?

Are your removing or installing? Well in any case here is a link to a video on how to remove the lock.
Note that the wire is ground into a wedge shape to allow it to pull down the woodruff slug so the bezel ring can be turned. When removing, you will need to push the wire in enough to pull the lock down and allow the bezel ring to screw off. And on reinstall, you will need to reinsert the wire to make sure that the tumbler can be inserted into the hole and the woodruff slug depress to allow the bezel ring to screw on.
