Oldsmobile/Buick: 1966 Olds Ignition Resistor, ballast resistor, resistance wire

There was a question regarding a ballast resistor; if I remember correctly, didn't GM use resistance wire somewhere between the "ON" terminal of the ignition switch and the coil? Maybe I've gone nuts, though.

Hi Steve,
I had to go to the books on this one! Unfortunately, I could find nothing on the subject, and none of the pictures and illustrations showed a good reference. I'm familiar with the ceramic type ballast resistors. Though limited to the very early 60's and 50's cars. Just don't know for sure if by 1966 they were still using this type set-up. I'll keep digging! Ray
