Toyota: 98 Camry Acceleration Issue., accelleration, mafs

Question
I hope you can help. I have a 98 Camry that has had a problem accelerating, but it is sporadic. It feels like something is holding it back and when I put the pedal all the way down to make it go. When this the brake pedal gets very stiff and it makes a roaring sound. This last for about 4 or 5 miles and then the car drives normal.

Answer
Hello,

mmm very strange...
Check the MAFS (it's the sensor placed after the air filter, when it's broken, it can cause bad accelleration). But something seems to be involved with the brake pump, very strange.
Maybe it's an electrical problem, check your alternator, spark plugs, and go to a toyota dealer and see with a tester if you get an error code from your ECU.

Hope this helps!

Jack
