Toyota: Toyota Corolla 2001 Check engine light, toyota corolla 2001, mass air sensor

Question
I have a toyota 2001 corolla with 70 K on it. Recently Check Engine Light came on. I got it checked at autozone, it has the code PO171. The light came on after I filled the fuel last time. I checked the gas cap to make sure it is tight. Reading all these forums , i understand that, it might be because of dirty MAF sensor. I am not sure how to locate the MAF sensor, though i read at couple of places, how to clean it. Can you help me in locating MAF sensor or any other suggestions to my problem....

Answer
Hello,

the MAFS is just after the airbox, on the pipe that leads to the butterfly valve.
It looks like this:

To remove it, simpy disconnect the cable, and unscrew the 2 screws. Be careful not to damage it.
Cleaning it needs that you pay attention not to broke it.
Here you find some instruction how to clean it (it's a Ford, but MAFS are quite common):

Hope this helps!
