Toyota: Toyota corolla burning oil and no indicator light, engine internals, toyota corolla

Question
I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla that burns way too much oil and the indicator light has never come on.  On one ocation I almost ran right out of oil.  3 Mechanics have looked at it and I have had no luck.  Is this a common problem with this car?  Do you think the dealer will be able to help with this problem?  I bought this car from a family member who purchaced it new and they have had the problem as well since they got it.

Answer
Hello!

No it isn't a common problems! Toyotas are famous for the low oil consumption...
You must have it checked for oil leaks around the engine. If you can't find them, this means that the oil is burned during driving together with fuel.. have a look at the color of the gas your car does, if it's white, then it's burning oil. In any case, the problem may be with engine internals. Of course a professional mechanic could solve this problem.

hope this helps!
