Volkswagen: Another question, vw lupo, experience person

Question
Hello John,I just came across to something else. If I am considering this car (Golf),I know lot of milege has a lot to do with how you drive your car, but would there be too much diference in fuel economy between the 1.9lt engine and the 2.0lt engine, considering the horse power, and torque power as well. I know you mantion that to me that 2.0lt 115hp were less likely to break down, Is that true? Does it make much of diference? Why would you drive a 2.0lt one insteed of 1.9lt, or even a 1.8lt ones? Another thing. VW's claims on his website the 1.9lt engine is the most fuel efficent engine so far. Do you know anything about that? How could I translate that to real life? Have you ever come across to this type of question?  Could you please help me with that?

As you can see I don't know much about cars, And every body claims to have the best product on earth. I have been ready a lot abouit vw's cars, but then again if you're not an experience person or have much knowledge in this kind of bussines, lot of this info still won't make a lot of sense to you. I guess! That's why I would like to recur to you. I hope you don't mind me asking so much?

Thanks,
Alberto.

Thanks

Answer
the only engine sizes for diesel golfs is 1.9 diesel, 1.9tdi or the new 2.0tdi. the standard non turbo 1.9 diesel is about on par with the tdi for economy, however you do loose alot of power and gain a little more noise. the 1.9 tdi is available in 90bhp, 110bhp, 115bhp, 130bhp, 150bhp (harder to find). the 2.0tdi is 140bhp. there is little difference in the economy figures for all the tdi engines, however there is a vast difference in power. the most economical diesel engine that volkswagon have produced is the 3 cylinder 1.4tdi engine. (only found in vw polo's and vw lupo's) it is was deemed 100k engine as it can do upto 100km per gallon.
