Volvo: 30,000 mile checkup, power steering fluid, cabin air filter

What will I expect at my 30,000 mile checkup besides an oil change and should I go to my Volvo dealer for it?

It is not necessary to see the dealer. Any good Volvo repair shop will do the service for you. Just make sure you keep the service work order for future possible warranty issues. This is a list of what the 30K inspection is....
