Volvo: 02 xc70, control arm bushings, lower control arm bushings

my wife and i are looking to buy a 2002 xc70 and were wondering if there are any particular questions we need to ask the dealer before purchase.  we were informed by my brother in-law that because of the turbo we had to use premium gas.  what possible problems could occur if the previous owner neglected to use premium?

There are some problems with the driveshaft and final drive system, the door locks actuators, as the mileage gets higher the rear main seal and or trans front pump seal. Front lower control arm bushings and ball joints. Make sure the timing belt is done on time.
I think that the book says 87 octane works for the gas.
