Volvo: wipers, realy, good luck

Question
My 1986 240 DL wiper motor works because I can here it running, but the wipers don't move. Is there a belt that connects to the wiper motor and if there is how do I get to it for repair. I was told that I might have to remove the dash to get to that section of the car since it is a 86 model. I looked under the hood and realy didn't see how to get to the wiper motor.

Answer
The wiper motor itself is mounted under the hood, on the top left firewall when you are facing the car from the front.  It's about the size of a can of soup, with a small retangular box attached to it.  If you hear the motor run, there is probably one of two problems.  Either the gear in the box attached to the motor is stripped, or the metal arms under the dash which actually move the wipers are broken in some way.  To view those, it's easiest to look up from the bottom of the dash and feel with your hands.  Good luck!
