Volvo: V70 air conditioner recharging, coolent, pressure valve

Question
I have a leak in the condenser of my 1998 v70.  Rather that pay $1000+ to replace it, I would like to try to recharge it with a couple of those kits that contain oil, stop leak etc.
1st is there any down side to doing that (all the coolent is long gone)?
2nd, if not, where is the low pressure valve on the v70 that you connect the recharger to?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hello Jack! I would not recommend any of those "quick fix" products. They do more harm than good. The price you are getting seems very high for a condenser replacement. I would shop around. The filler valve is located under the hood. Right side, behind the headlamp.
