Volvo: Volvo keyless entry programming, keyless entry programming, drivers seat

Jimmy,  I purchased a 95 Volvo Turbo 850 and the keyless entry does not work.  I am told that if the remote batteries go dead, you will have to reprogram them.  Is this something I can do?  Any other ideas?  Thanks!!

Hello Robin! Try replacing the batteries first. Then reprogram it. Sit in the drivers seat, make sure all doors are closed, including the hood. Cycle the key in the ignition 5 times, on the fifth turn, leave the ignition on. Press the each remote button once for a second or two. If that does not work, you need a new remote. Program the new remote using the same procedure. I hope this helps you.
