Volvo: cruise control, volvo 850, cruise control

Question
The cruise control of my 1993 volvo 850 doesn't work anymore. It used to, but only when the steering wheel was NOT in the highest position. When applying an upward pressure (temporarily steering with my knee) on the wheel, it stopped operating. That should indicate a electrical contact problem, I thought.

I have had the cruise control checked for broken contacts by the dealer, but everything seemed to be allright. The cruise control then worked for two times en then expired permanently. Could you help me out? What can be the problem?

Answer
Hello,
If your car has automatic transmission, under the brake pedal there is a switch for cruise control, if your car is manual this switch  under the brake pedal. In my opinion the problem is that switch. Check or replace it with new one.
