Driving & Driving Test Tips: 4 wheel drive vs snow tires, snow tires, snow area
QuestionMy wife is ready to buy a new car. Her present car has lasted 5 years so you can see she is conserative.
She drives almost one hour each way to work and we live in a snow area (north Ohio). We don't know if we should go with a 4 wheel drive or just get snow tires for the winter.
The only thing for sure, it will be a sedan not SUV. Any suggestions?
AnswerI am not an expert with either. Snow tires are good on one side, yet I believe you still need power. Sometimes and I am not sure but I think people sometimes use both 4 wheel drive and snow tires. I would ask what the sales people recommend and why. If you use snow tires, you need to change them for the different seasons. Good luck and sorry. I really don't have an answer.
