4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: fuel gauge, ill family member, gauge needle

Question
Hi, I have a 1990 Toyota 4x4 extra cab 4cyl.  I recently removed the instrument cluster to clean out some debris and accidentally bumped the fuel gauge needle.  Now it reads wrong.  I tried taking it back out and filling the tank and resetting it to full but it only moves when the tanks gets about 1/2 full. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

Answer
Scott, sorry for the delay I have had an ill family member so I wasnt able to get back to you right away the fuel gauge needle has to be put on a certain way or it will not be right , I would take the plastic cover off and take the needle off and try putting it in different spots untill it seems to register right ,I would do it with either a half or a full tank of fuel , thats about the only way I know how to fix it. Thanks ADAM
