What type of filter is used during an oil change for a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT?

Hi Nikia and thanks for the question.  There are many good after market oil filters on the market with Fram probably at the top of the list.  In my opinion the best choice you can make is the filter made by and furnished with the vehicle you bought.  They are manufactured to precise specifications.  I realize that they may cost a dollar or so more, and are not as conveniently located but are worth the time and effort.  Best of luck, Bud
