Tips on Buying Cars: Used cars from auctions and best used car models, automobile auctions, auto auctions

Question
Hi Aaron, I am considering buying a used car. I have heard that auctions can be good for the skilled auto consumer, but risky for many. I am curious to know what your take is on auto auctions, specifically government seized automobile auctions. I would also like to know, which models make reliable used cars? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Wallace,

I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've been busier than usual lately. Auctions, in general, are good sources of used cars. Most, don't allow someone who's not a licensed wholesaler to buy cars. I'm not as familiar with govt. seized auctions. Your best bet for reliability, is checking Consumer Reports, Edmunds.com, Kbb.com, Nada.com, etc. Good luck!

Aaron
