Tips on Buying Cars: Honda, honda accord, wise decision

Question
Hi Ray,

I believe I e-mailed you a few weeks ago regarding the same subject, thanks for the great advice.

1.  Is the price online subject to negotiation?  I have salespeople telling me, the price is negotiable but only very little, like a few hundred dollars.  Is that true?

2.  I am willing to purchase a 2002 Honda Accord SE Coupe with 53K for around 13,500.  Is this a wise decision?

Thanks so much for your assistance

Mike

Answer
Hi again Mike
As I recall you were after a Civic with about $ 11.000 to work with.
RE, your # 1 question
Anything is negotiable when it comes to buying a car, the mere fact some salespeople or salesperson told you only to expect a few hundred dollars discount tells me your dealing with rookie's, a pro salesperson would have told you what you want to hear in order to get you to dealership, they cant sell you a car on the phone or internet there has to be contact at some point.

# 2...A 2002 Accord SE with 53K at $ 13.500.asking seems a little low to me...but hey great deals happen every day.
Just make sure you follow all the steps, go to my website
 http://www.usedcartips.org/
and read the 10 steps it will only take 10 minutes but could make or break the deal on the Accord..
Nice to hear from you again, let me know how you end up
 Regards
