Tips on Buying Cars: buying off my lease, lease buyout, scion

My lease on my 2008 scion is up and i went to the dealer to buy it at the lease buyout amount of 9200.00, I wish to buy it outright no finance.
The dealer told me I have to pay
tax ny state
title fees 150.00
plate fees 35.00
dealer processing fee 1388.00 !!!

I told him , stop , what is that, he said it is the fee to buy it from the dealer, any dealer. He said I can not buy direct from Toyota finance, have to go thru the dealer. I am suspicious , am I correct is this another dealer scam of sorts!!!!!!

Dana:Any car you purchase must include tax,title and licence.However,the dealer processing fee is something you do not have to pay for.In my state, it is illegal However,YOU do not have buy at this dealership,consider a another dealership or something else.Or,refuse to pay the dealership fee and most important secure your own financing first.Good luck!
