Tips on Buying Cars: returning a used car, temp guage, gaskit

Hi
Purchased a used car on Sat.$3300.00  Took it for a short drive , 20 miles, on Sun. noticed the temp guage was high. Went back to the dealer , told them about it. Took it to garage Mon Morn,  they said the head gaskit was blown. Figured if it had been something small, no prob, we would have taken care of, but this isnt small. do we have any recourse?  in California

I am in Florida, not sure of the laws in California. Florida there is NO cooling off period, you buy you own. Check the laws in Caifornia, also, if you can prove the dealer knew the engine was shot you may have recourse but you will most likely need an attorney. Go back tell them the problem, tell them you expect them to take the car back or fix it, if they will not, just tell them they will hear from your attorney, and you are going to call the tv stations action line.
