Tips on Buying Cars: AWD, awd cars, audi models

Question
Which models of Audi, Volkswagon, Mercedes and BMW offer AWD?  Exclude SUVs.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Dear Ted,

(Audi)

Just about all Audi models have AWD either standard or optional.
AWD is marketed under the name of Quattro.

(Volkswagen)

The only model (except for SUVs) with AWD is the VW CC.

The AWD system for VW is called 4Motion.

(Mercedes Benz)

The non SUV vehicles from Mercedes which have AWD (marketed under 4MATIC) are:

C-Class, E-Class Sedan and Wagon, R-Class, and S-Class

(Note:  With Mercedes-Benz, the 4MATIC option is limited to certain engine sizes

(BMW)

The non SUV vehicles from BMW that have AWD (marketed under XDrive) are:

3 Series (Coupe, Sedan, and Wagon)
5 Series (Sedan and Wagon)

Please note that the above information is for products marketed in the United States.  For example, VW in Germany offers a wider range of AWD cars as compared to the U.S.

I hope this overview helps.
