Tips on Buying Cars: i sold my car and the buyer wont pay, small claims court, verbal agreement

i sold my used car to a friend with a verbal agreement with several witnesses including the person who notarized the title. now the person who bought it is behind in payments he has the car fully titled in his name. he wont sign a written agreement, is'nt paying and wont speak to me. i live in arizona. is there anything i can do legally

Legally in Arizona, yes you can do something.  If you have witnesses to your conversation, you can take him to small claims court and sue him.  A verbal agreement in most states is the same as a written agreement, but you have to have witnesses.  If you have those, then seek legal advice from an attorney.  More than likely you don't need an attorney for small claims court, you will just be your own attorney so to speak.  Simply go to the district court and file a lawsuit against this person in small claims court.

Secondly, since I am in the business of giving advice, never EVER do anything without a written agreement.  A written agreement would give you a lot more leverage in this situation.
