Tips on Buying Cars: Buying a rental, toyota highlander, valid warranty

Question
QUESTION: I am going to be buying a used Toyota Highlander for my 19 year old daughter to take up to college. I am considering 2-3 year old cars, most seem to be coming off lease. However, I have also seen some 2007 models with low milege (under 15000 miles) that were formerly rental vehicles. What is your opinion of buying a rental car?

ANSWER: Hi Jeff

I like former rental cars go to this link on my website for an explanation as to why   http://www.usedcartips.org/RENTACAR.html

QUESTION: Thanks for the quick response. I guess the part that bothers me is the uncertainty of the rental having many drivers and the abuse that the car may have taken that you can't see.

Answer
Hey Jeff

If you really read into my answer on that web page,,, what makes you think that a lease vehicle by one driver is better taken care off when it's returned within it's term ? what about the lease return driver whom dont give 2 hoot's as He/She knows vehicle will outlast future problems before termination of lease ?

look at it this way,,, if you were in a lease with a few months to go , and the service dept said it needs this that and more , and if you dont down the road you could have real problems,,, will you get it done ?,,, I dont think so.

Long story short, major rental Co's take care of their vehicle's, and to me they become the best buys on the market today with a valid warranty.
But then again I seen many former rental I would not consider, it now comes down to you Jeff having made the right choice with study

I somehow know you will make the right choice, just for asking questions your miles ahead of other dad's

 good Luck
