Tires: year of tire, dot code, caution

My tire date is 26X so what year is the tire made?
I'm thinking its 2000. would this be correct?

You have not located the DOT Code.  Here's how to find the DOT Code and what it should say:

Word of caution.

The date code of the DOT code only has to appear on one side.  A partial is allowed on the other.  My guess is that you need to look on the other side for the date code.
