Tires: tire storage, tire storage, sources of heat

Question
tires is off the car and still on rim do i leave the air in for long tirm storage or take the air out

Answer
Micah,

The recommended practice is to store the tires inflated unless the pressure exceeds 35 psi.  Then reduce the pressure to 35 psi.

It is best to store tires in a cool, dark, dry located away from sources of heat, sunlight, and ozone (electric motors).  It is best to store them flat, off the ground, and stacked on top of one another, but not too many as the bottom tire is carrying the weight of all the tires.
