Tires: Camper Tires, camper tires, wheel camper

Hello,

I need some help. I just received a free 1979 Coachmen 5th wheel camper. It is a one owner, but the gentleman is elderly and on oxygen so the camper sat up for a few years. The tires had collapsed and rotted,so I need to ask you guys if I can switch out the H78 15SP tires with 225-75-15 tires just to move it approximately 80 miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I need to move this tomorrow, and am unemployed, so I cannot afford a new set of tires.

I think your first step is to check with Coachmen to find out what the original tires were on this vehicle.

Second step would be to check the tire size.  I suspect you meant H78R15ST.  If so, then you have to get ST type tires to have enough load carrying capacity - ST225/75R15 - and use the same load range and inflation pressure.
