Tires: Buying tires for my 2003 chevy Z71, michelin ltx ms, michelin ltx ms tires

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I have a dilemma, I am shopping for Michelin tires for my 2003 Z71 chevy pickup. It currently has the original tires on it P265/75R16 with a load capacity of 2601 lbs at 44psi. The Michelin LTX MS tires I want have lower weight ratings until you go to LT265/75R16 load range E My door sticker calls for 35 PSI, what PSI would I need to run in these E rated  tire and can I do it  Thank you, DON

ANSWER: Don,

I think you have a misconception, but I can not verify it.

I have found the Michelin tires you are looking for, so I am confused.

You don't need to go to LT tires if I understand this correctly.

So I think I need to understand why you think there aren't tires available.  I suggest you check again.

QUESTION: My current max load ratting on my Bridgestone P265/75R16 is 2601 lbs@44psi. The max load on the michelin P265/75R16 is 2365@35 psi. The max load on the Michelin LT265/75R16C is2470@50psi. The max load on the Michelin LT265/75R16E is 3415@80 psi.I would rather not go to a lower max load if possible, so if I ran the E load rated tires what pressure should I run, or if I run the c load rated tire what pressure should I run. Thank you
ANSWER: Don,

I looked up a P265/75R16 Michelin LTX M/S on Tire Rack's web site and I get the max load at 2601 pounds.  I don't find anything rated at 2365 pounds.

So obviously we are looking at different things

Here's the page I was looking at:

What were you looking at?

QUESTION: I was looking at Michelins website http://mighelinman.com/specs/ltx_m_s/27.html Thank you. Sorry it took so long to respond.

Answer
Don,

The link you gave me takes me to a page that includes a P265/75R16 but only lists UTQG ratings.  However, the load carrying capacity of a P265/75R16 is 2601 pounds at 35 psi regardless of who makes the tire.

So I don't see a conflict between what Michelin publishes and what Tire Rack says is available.

So I am back to my original statement.  You can use a P265/75R16 and it is available.
