Tires: tire compatibility, placard, psi

Barry,   I have to change my Mazda 97 626 tires (currently, P185 70R14 87S; but the manual says p195/65R1r 88S). I was given a set of almost new tires, P195 70R 14 90S. What would be the effect if I use this set?   I appreciate your advise,     Alejandro

The P185/70R14's are a bit small for the vehicle, but if inflated to 3 psi above what the placard says for the P195/65R14's you should be OK.

The P195/70R14's are OK, too but I would mount those on the rear and at the first opportunity, get 4 tires of the same size.  That's the safest thing to do.
