I need to replace tires on my 2000 toyota avalon xls, original tires mxv4 michelin, have not been satisfied, needed repacing at 30,000 miles. Can this model carry the michelin harmony, which has been recommended.

Thanks,
vb

Answer -
That should be a good replacment tire if all you need is good miliage and road traction.  Realize the MXV4 is more of a performance tire and the handling want be as good with the Harmony. Unless you like driving hard and taking corners on two wheels it should not b
Thank you for your response. Since writing you my son has tlked to Toyota dealer friends and they said this model would not handle anything other than the mxv4 due to the suspension, that the Harmony was not strong enough on outside of the tire. I am very confused. Is there another brand comparable to the Michelin?
Really appreciate you information.

Answer
The Toyota dealer will tell you that because they don't want to be held liable.  Yes that car is setup to use an H rated tire or light high performance. You will not get good miliage on any of them. the tire is built stiff for the handling.  Like I said it really depends on your driving style.  If you are a carful and slow driver the Harmony will do well.  If you are a lane swapper or race car driver you need to go back with the MXV4. Brigdstone and BFGoodrich both make a very good H rated tire.
