Tires: better priced tires & recaps, light trucks, retreading

Berry;   thxs for offering your time.the 4*4 truck i use for work & remote recoveries works best with the 37" goodyr hummer type tires.boy are they exspensive. do know where the best priced location for these larger tires would be, maybe someone sells seconds, what about recapped larger tires , are they safe.again thxs for your contrabution.  later jack in az.

I think you're going to find that they don't make recaps in that size.

Personally, I'm not a fan of recaps for passenger and light trucks, as the casings aren't designed for retreading and tires are especially sensitive to heat, so I don't even want to think about a recap in AZ.

BTW, I've been doing some paper research and the conclusion I've come to is that in AZ, CA, NV, NM, and FL, tires should be removed from service when they reach 6 years old, regardless of how much wear they have.  Even brand new ones are suspect.

I know, that's 2 messages you didn't want to hear, but it's better to know.
