Tires: Directional tires, directional tires, time alan

Question
I have a set of directional tires. My car is front wheel drive. Front to back is the only way i can rotate the tires. Would you recommend actually remounting the tires on opposite sides to extend tread life? If so how often? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Alan,

I believe that rotation is absolutely critical, however, I don't belive that folks show go to extremes to do it.  And demounting tires off wheels is extreme.  You'd be further ahead measuring the tread carefully to track the alignment wear and then adjusting the alignment when there is uneven wear.

BTW, I also don't believe that direction tires are worth much for the street.   IMHO, it's on the racetrack where you can really take advantage of them.

Hope this helps.
