Used Cars: 2004 Mercedes-Benz : C-Class C320, mercedes benz c, mercedes benz

Question
Hi

I am currently looking for a used car. I cam across a listing that seemed about 20% lower than comparable cars.
However, it had the following entry: It was repurchased by Mercedes because of transmission concerns. The repairs were made by the manufacturer. We have the paperwork from Mercedes to verify these repairs. This Benz was then completely inspected by Mercedes and found to meet factory specifications.
Any idea wht this is about?
Do you think it is a good deal anyway?

Thanks

Tom

Answer
Hey Tom,
If Mercedes took in the car and fixed the problem with the transmission, there should be not problems with it after. I do suggest that since they are selling the car and did do the work, they should supply you with a warranty on the transmission work that they did. (one year warranty at least) I would also check the VIN on Carfax to make sure there is no hidden issues (accidents, written off, etc ..)
If all checks out and they give you a warranty, then get them to lower the price even more and take the deal!

Transmission problems occur with every brand, but are usually fixed by dealer under warranty.
