Trucking: OTR Experience Not Recent, truck driving school, quality carriers

I have a total of 3 yrs experience driving OTR. However, I have not drove since 2001. Im finding it hard too find a job because my experience is not recent. Is there any companies that you can recomend ???  How can I get back on the road without going back too truck driving school ?

Bobby. I'm surprised you are having difficulty finding a job with the constant demand for drivers.  You didn't mention if the 3 years experience was with a clean record.  If you have too many points even on your personal driving record that will hurt you.  With all of the liability of a truck on the road most quality carriers are going to look closely at your driving record.  Best bet I can recommend is stick with smaller local companies until you can get back on the road and build some current experience.  You may not get the best hours or pay to start but once you get a year or two of recent safe driving under your belt it will get a whole lot easier.  Best of luck.  Jim.
