ANSWER: Hi Charlene, A Broker is one who obtains loads from a shipper or trucking company and offers them to other truckers to move the load. The Broker keeps a per cent of the freight charges.   A recruiter is one that talks with drivers and owner operators and tries to get them to sign up with a certain trucking company.  J P Long

Hello Charlene, There are three steps to becoming a broker.
1. Obtain Federal Broker Permit (I can get for you)
2. File a BOC - Process Agents (I can get for you)
3. A $10,000. Bond must be posted to get the permit. This would have to be arraigned thru a Bonding Service or a Bank.   Let me know if I may be of futher help.
