Truck Repair: operation temps and pressures, n14 cummins, jb hunt

Question
I have a 1993 jb hunt truck with a n14 cummins. What should i see as oil pressure and operation temps on coolent. I run a lot of north texas and new mexico,, so the temp is pretty high in the summer.    ps how hard are rods and mains to replace

Answer
Well the engine fan comes on at around 215 degrees. The oil pressure should be between 30-40 PSI at 1800 RPMs.Depending on the milage,I would not change them unless there is an oil pressure problem due to dilution from coolant or fuel.If the oil pressure gets too low a Check Engine light will come on & log a 143 and or 415 fault.Oh yea, they are a pain to change.Need something to hold 11 gals of oil and a 3/4 drive torque wrench just to name a few special tools needed.
