Truck Repair: 2 ISB Cummins Cracked Blocks, cummins isb, freighliner

Question
I have a 99 Freighliner that was equippped with a Cummins ISB.  The block cracked last summer.  We contacted Cummins Southern Plains in Tulsa.  They claimed they had never had problems with these blocks.  I asked for advice since the engine had about 300,000 miles. They said they did not sell a short block, suggested I buy a used one on the market.  I bought a 99 engine out of a wrecked Dodge Pickup which only had about 100,000 miles on it (looked brand new when you took off the valve cover)  and ran it great for about 3 weeks.  The block cracked in the same place. I called Cummins in Tulsa, they said maybe I had put in an engine mount improperly (ha) I have contacted Communs they claim the block crack affets 1 in 100,000 engines . I have had two in a row.   I have since done research and learned they have known about this for years. I am not getting resolution, and am retaining an attorney t o bring a lawsuit against them. Are you aware of others that have brought suit against Cummmins over this cracked block issue?

Answer
Since I work at a distributor, lawsuit pending and all,I can not answer this or any question about this matter as it might drag me into it & get me released from my duties(fired). But I would have priced a NEW block & repaired it that way instead of a same casting used block.
