Truck Repair: 1979 L10 cummins, foot to the floor, fuel filter

Question
i have a 1979 volvo white gmc single axle cab-over.  i cant get it to start and am trying to figure how to bleed the fuel line.

Answer
On a L-10 you shouldn't have a prob bleeding the fuel system.  Just make sure the fuel filter is completley full, and crank it with your foot to the floor (there is also a small plug on top of the pump that you can remove and fill the pump).  If it is not starting with a full fuel filter.  Inspect the fuel shut-off.  If it has an electronic shut-off, make sure it has power with the key in the run position.  On the rear part of the electronic shut-off there is a "knob" that you can screw in, this is a bypass incase it goes bad.  If it starts after bypassing the fuel shut-off then you will have to screw it back out to get it to stop.
