Vintage Cars: 74 450sl mercedes won,t start, 450sl mercedes, coil wire

car been sitting three years replace points&condenser use coil NEW plugs, first resistor 12v going in 9.3 coming out sec. resistor 9.3going in 6.2 coming out to coil spin engine over volage drops to 3.2 hold coil wire next to ground it will fire move it 1/4'AWAY NO SPARK

short somewhere, check grounds .  look carefully at distibutor to make sure it is not shorting out, or better yet run a ground off distributor body to see if the short is there.  had a 220 that would not start , chased it forever , ended up the points were shorting out on distributor case
