Vintage Cars: Chevy Big Block Engine code, 1966 chevy caprice, chevy caprice

QUESTION:  Hello, I was wondering if you can help me with an engine code? It is a chevy 396 motor with the this stamped on it. T0625CWH  also a smaller # by this one and it is 13C226329
I am wondering what year this is suppose to be in and what it came out of. About all I can get is it was made june 25. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

ANSWER: hey lonny , sorry it took so long, I have been out of town
the smaller number is a partial VIN number of the car it came out of.

THe engine was made in Tonawanda, off the line , june 26th

now CWH is the engine suffix code ,and it does not show up in my records for either small or large block, CW is good the H is not. Are you sure its an H?
I am pretty sure the CW is large block the rest are as follows
as you can see there is not a CWH.
Look again and let me know

QUESTION:  Hello, I went and checked the number again and it is an H could this motor be out of a pickup or truck then?
I have another question for you. I recently purchased a 1966 Chevy Caprice(a basket case) and have figured out where it was made, but am having trouble with when and what all the options it has on it, maybe you can't get that kind of detailed information. Anyways here is the number off the tag on the firewall

Did chevy have a chrome package for this? This one has chrome rear fender caps, a chrome front nose(above grill) and a chrome piece under the windshield washer arms. I have never seen these before and did not know. Thanks again!!

ANSWER: I am stumped on the engine, I found once refrence to a 1973 passenger 454 , but you say its a 396?
You are sure its a chevy?

You may try to find the block date and we can referece specific years

the chrome sounds like an aftermarket application.  Rear fenders should be trimed in thin chrome edge around wheel wheels

QUESTION:  I think it is a 396, that is what the guy told me. It is in the 66 caprice, and he didn't think it was orignal, that is why i am wondering what it is suppose to be in.
As for the chrome, someone said that it was a chevy option and that there was only 2500 of them made. I have no idea on this and also think it is something somone did. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

if it is original equipment , you should be able to tell by the quality of the product, the fit and it should have chevy part numbers on it
As far as the engine goes - I have exhausted all chevy references for 396
