Vintage Cars: 1970 CUTLASS 455 2 B CONVERTABLE, unusual cars, barrett jackson

Question
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE APPROX. VALUE OF THIS CAR. IT'S IN GREAT CONDITION. MOST PARTS ARE ALL ORIGINAL. THIS CAR LITERALLY FEEL INTO MY LAP. I PUT 7 G'S INTO IT AND BOUGHT IT FROM A COUSIN FOR 2 G'S. SHE WENT OFF TO BECOME A NUN.

Answer
This must be a Custlass Supreme.  The 455, if original, is worth 20% on top of typical prices.

Nobody can appraise a car by remote, I must see it to give a true value.  With all due respect, "great condition" can mean a lot of things.

in the typical 1,2,3,4,5 ratings, very very few cars are a true #1, that being as good if not better than factory new.

#2 is like a VERY well cared for 1- year old used car with very low miles. #2 is what most people think is #1, but it is still a very nice show car. #3 would be your typical 50,000 mile used car in good condition. A good driver. #4 would be a complete car with most things worn but not real rusty but needing a complete restoration to be show quality.  A rough driver.  #5 is a parts car, probably not running.

Values for a Custlass Supreme 455 convertible can run from about $2500 for a #5 to $25,000 or more for a #1.  A #3 or #2 car can run from $10,000 to $16,000 or more.

You don't say what options the car has, but lots of options is better.  You don't say what version of the 455 it is, there are at least two HP levels, the higher one being the more desirable.

More information won't really help though, without seeing the car in person I can't get any more specific than this.

Also, if these values seem a little low compared to what you might see on TV auctions (Barrett-Jackson) remember that they only take the very BEST cars and the most unusual cars with lots of options and great colors.  Very few cars outside of B-J get those hyper high prices.
