Japanese auto makers like Honda and Toyota are famous for producing some of the most reliable used cars on the road today. In fact, models like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are in Consumer Report's top 10 list of most reliable used vehicles every year. Although Honda and Toyota are among the most popular of Japanese vehicles, fellow Japanese car manufacturers like Nissan, Isuzu and Mazda are also highly regarded when it comes to producing reliable cars and trucks.
Many Japanese vehicles are regarded to be of higher quality in their design and manufacture than American or European cars. While American and European manufacturers have definitely made strides in the right direction the majority of Americans still believe that Japanese cars are superior in terms of quality and reliability.
Japanese Car Affordability
While Japanese cars are certainly some of the most reliable vehicles available today, they are somewhat expensive and not everyone can afford them. Because they are made to last longer and enjoy higher resale values, they are simply out of reach for some would be lower to middle income car buyers.

If you're shopping for a quality Japanese used car, consider several makes and models available in a particular size class or style. Often, one Japanese manufacturer may offer a vehicle at a much lower price--simply to increase sales for that market segment.
