In Arizona, there are different rules and regulations for obtaining a bonded title for each type of transportation. Whether it is a car, truck, boat, motorcycle or trailer you much have the item in your possession and it most likely is used.
Obtaining a bonded title in Arizona for an automobile or truck is necessary if you purchase an automobile or truck and it does not have a title document, or if you lose the title document before you register the vehicle, or if the title is defective in some way. In order to obtain a bonded title, you must first have the automobile or truck in your possession. Then you must run a records check on the vehicle at the Arizona Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) office, pay to have a MVD inspector inspect the vehicle, obtain lien releases for all lien holders (if any), obtain a bond from a bonding insurance company, and pay all required fees.
Contact the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) for boating regulations and ownership. Arizona issues boat registrations but not bonded titles. A bill of sale is required to register a boat that does not have an existing registration.
Obtaining a bonded title for a trailer is similar to that of obtaining a bonded title for a vehicle except for emissions testing. Though boats are under the purview of the AZGFD, trailers of all types including for boats remain under the purview of the MVD.
Go to the MVD as the requirements for obtaining a bonded title are the same as those for an automobile.
