What Is Kia HomeLink?

Designed and sold to car manufacturers by Jackson Controls, Homelink is an optional accessory available on certain Kia car models. Homelink allows you to wirelessly connect with nearly all garage door, electronic gate and home lighting systems with a simple program.

Kia Models Featuring Homelink

  • Kia car models featuring Homelink as of October 2010 include the Amanti, Optima, Sedona, Sorento and Sportage.

How It Works

  • The Jackson Controls Homelink website provides the instructions for all car makes and models for which Homelink is available. From the homepage you select "program" and then enter the specifications of your car and the apparatus you wish to connect to. Homelink will duplicate the codes of the original transmitter, connecting wirelessly with your garage door or other device.

Price

  • Homelink comes as a standard feature on several car models. If your car does not come with Homelink, you can purchase it through Mito Corporation as an accessory to auto-dimming rear-view mirrors. October 2010 prices range from $259 to $729 depending on the features of the mirror.

Garage Door Makes

  • Homelink can connect to most types of garage door opener makes, including Crafstman, Wayne Dalton, Summer, Liftmaster, Horman, Genie, Allstar, Chamberlain, Linear, Marantec and Overhead Door.
