When purchasing one, though, there are plenty of details to consider. With three styles of cabs to choose from, you must know your needs prior to purchasing your new truck.

Regular Cab

  • For many individuals, a truck is used much like a tool. It performs certain duties and is looked upon as a necessary commodity. The regular cab Ford F-150 pickup truck is the basic package available on XL, STX and SLT editions. In many instances, this is a popular entry-level work or transportation truck. The regular cab pickup truck is the backbone of the truck line. For many years, this was the only cab available. This cab option is best suited for individuals who do not need a lot of inside storage space and those who will not be transporting many people with them.

Super Cab

  • The super cab option presents much more interior storage for the vehicle owner. The super cab is available on XL, STX, SLT, LARIAT, FX4 and SVT RAPTOR editions. There is room behind the driver's seat to transport equipment and supplies. With 33.4 inches of rear leg room, there is also more than enough room for passengers in the rear of the super cab. This cab option provides room for groceries and children and is often used by vehicle owners with small families. This cab is also used on chassis trucks, such as fire truck rescue vehicles, which will add work boxes or other options to the chassis.

Super Crew Cab

  • For those who have a large family or who will be transporting crews or passengers on a regular basis, the super crew cab is the logical choice. This option is available on the XL, XLT, Lariat, FX4, King Ranch, Platinum and Harley Davidson editions. The super crew can serve as an everyday mode of transportation, while doubling as a work vehicle. Extended periods of travel are also possible for passengers, with its 41.4 inches of leg room up front and its 43.5 inches of leg room in the rear.
