How to Make My Own Oils & Car Fragrance

Covering up odors and freshening the air in your car makes it more pleasant to ride in. Making your own oil car fragrances allows you to experiment with different scents and different textures. Choose fragrances that invigorate you, calm you, or simply choose those that have a scent that pleases you. Making the oil car fragrance at home is simple and fast.

Things You'll Need

  • Essential oils (assorted)
  • Distilled water
  • Plastic spray bottle
  • Select your choice of essential oils, using up to five. Ideal selections for freshening your car's environment include eucalyptus, lavender, cotton, hydrangea and lemongrass.

  • Mix the various essential oils to equal up to 1 oz. of scented oil. Or, you can use a single scent to freshen your car.

  • Put the 1 oz. of essential oils in a plastic spray bottle.

  • Add approximately 19 oz. of distilled water to the plastic bottle and cap it securely.

  • Shake the bottle vigorously to thoroughly mix the contents of the bottle.
