BMW's touchscreen navigation system, available as an option across its models today, provides an intuitive interface that nearly anyone can use. Using the navigation to obtain directions to a specified waypoint is a straightforward procedure that requires virtually no prior knowledge of BMWs or navigation systems. This is a useful procedure to know if you are ever lost in your navigation-equipped BMW and need to find a way home or if you want to obtain the most expeditious route to your destination.
Using the "iDrive" knob, select the MENU item.
Select "Navigation" and then select "Enter address."
Select "State/Province" and use the "iDrive" knob to scroll down to the state of your destination.
Select "Town/City/Postal Code" enter the name of your destination's city or its zip code.
As you enter the city name, a list in the navigation menu will automatically appear. Move the iDrive knob to the right to access this populated list and scroll through it.
Select "House number" and enter the digits of your destination's house number.
Select "Accept destination" and then select "Start guidance" to begin using the navigation to receive step-by-step directions.
