How to Obtain a Disabled Parking Permit in Arkansas

If you are a disabled Arkansas resident, you can apply for disabled parking placards or disability license plates. The disability must meet the definition of disability in accordance with Arkansas laws. The eligible disabilities include impaired walking ability, respiratory problems, use of portable oxygen and certain cardiac conditions.   • Check the definition of allowable disability according to Arkansas rules and regulations to determine if you qualify as disabled before applying for disability parking placards and/or disability plates.

  • Print the application Form 10-336 from the Arkansas Office of Motor Vehicles website. This form is the Licensed Physician Certification required for issuance of a special license plate or special certificate for the disabled.

  • Take Form 10-336 to your physician so that the certification of the disability can be completed. The physician must indicate whether the disability is temporary or permanent and also indicate the nature of the disability.

  • Take the completed Form 10-336 to any state of Arkansas Revenue Office for issuance of the disability license plates and disabled parking placards. There are no fees except for the regular license registration fee.
