What To Do If You Are Involved In An Accident and Suffer Injuries

Do Not give a recorded statement to ANY insurance company.
Many accident victims wrongly believe that they must give a statement to the other party’s or their own insurance company. They think that if they do not, then they will not be allowed to make a claim for their injuries and damages.

This is FALSE. Insurance company employees are experts at getting information from you that may later hurt your ability to state a claim for your injuries and damages. Tell them NO, and call your attorney.

Do Not sign a release for your medical records for any insurance company.

Many accident victims make the mistake of signing a medical release for either their own or the other party’s insurance company. This gives the insurance company access to your medical records, oftentimes before your attorney has a chance to review the records.

While the insurance companies will eventually have access to this information, you should never allow an insurance adjuster access to your medical information before your attorney has had a chance to review the information. Should any of the information contained therein be wrong, the insurance company will not hesitate to use those facts against you.

Do not sign a release for your medical records to any insurance company until you speak with your attorney.
