Sure, you can camp in a tent, but why would you? Driving an RV is like traveling WITH your hotel room. Every amenity you need (plus that big screen TV) is available any where you decide to camp.

Of course, there are campgrounds…and then there are campgrounds. Here are the top 10 campgrounds most searched for on Yahoo. 

#1. South Padre Island is the RV Island!

Nestled in the Gulf of Mexica is a long barrier island known as South Padre Island.  One side is bordered by Port Isabel, while the other side bumps up against the Padre Island National Seashore.  The rest is miles and miles of beaches and awesome places to park your RV.  Consider the South Padre Island KOA or Andy Bowie Park.  You might also consider the 600 RV spots ready for occupancy at the Isla Blanca Park.  The key here is early reservations.  This RV wonderland is a busy place, but once you are there you can sit back and enjoy the seashore!

#2. Boyd’s in Key West is the End of the Road

If you drive all the way south in Florida and through the Florida Keys, you will eventually reach the the Island of Key West. This is the end of the road. Key West is literally as far south as you can drive your RV. Once there you’ll want to visit Boyd’s Key West Campground. Boyd’s is close to everything including snorkeling, fishing or just relaxing in the surf. This popular summer drive is a great place for RVs to park and explore the Vicksburg National Military Park by taking a walk through history. There are numerous RV parks in the region,but this area is busy, so be sure to reserve early! If you love to fish consider the Chotard Landing Resort, or if you left the kids behind, consider the Ameristar RV Park next to the Ameristar Casino.
