How to Take Good Car Pictures

If you are selling your car or want to show off you vehicle to your friends online, you will need to snap a few photos of your ride. Although the process seems rather simple, you will want to take some time to get a couple of great shots of your vehicle especially if you are trying to sell it. Making a decent photo of your car depends largely on having a decent camera. If you don't have one, borrow one from a friend or purchase one.

Things You'll Need

  • Car wash soap
  • Bucket
  • Sponge
  • Car Wax
  • Ladder
  • Wash your car thoroughly. Remove all dirt and dust from the tires and make sure the windows are spotless. Wax the car if it appears to be dull.

  • Park the car in a scenic spot with an inviting background. Try not to take the photo with a lot of extra background elements like moving vehicles and people. It's distracting to the eye.

  • Wait for a sunny day and take the picture in the afternoon or morning. At noon time, the sun will beat down on the car, making it tougher to get a shot without any glare.

  • Get the car in the middle of the picture. Crotch down and get the front of the vehicle at eye level. Go around the auto and continue to snap pictures of all the vehicle's angles.

  • Take a few photos on a ladder. Angle the photo so the image has a full view of the top, front and side of the vehicle. This is an extremely appealing angle.

  • Experiment. Test a bunch of angles and try to take a couple of pictures of the car on the road. Turn the wheels to one side, creating an action feel to the photo.

  • Get inside the vehicle and snap a few shots of the control systems and the back seat. It's also not a bad idea to take a couple of photos of the trunk, but only if it is immaculate.
